It is forbidden for males to wear ties made of pure natural silk or those in which silk is the predominant material, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, these two are forbidden for the males of my Ummah." However, those made of artificial silk are permissible. Scholars have permitted a small amount of silk, such as a patch not exceeding four fingers in width.
