To what extent is it permissible for women to issue fatwas?

Islam has affirmed women's right to knowledge and issuing fatwas, citing examples from female Companions and Successors, foremost among them Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, who was a reference for both men and women in issuing fatwas.

It also clarified that the conditions for a mufti do not include masculinity, but rather scholarly and jurisprudential competence, which is agreed upon by scholars.

Examples of virtuous, knowledgeable, and mufti women were mentioned, such as: Safiyyah bint Shaybah, Umm ad-Dardaa, Mu'adhah al-Adawiyyah, Bint al-Mahamili, Kareemah al-Marwaziyyah, Aisha bint Hasan, Fatimah ad-Daqqaq, Bint Za'bal, and Fatimah bint al-Baghdadi.

In conclusion, a distinction was made between fatwa and judiciary. While issuing fatwas is permissible for a qualified woman, holding a judicial position is not permissible for her according to the Sharia evidence and the practice of the Ummah.
