What is the ruling on working for a UN-affiliated body on a project that aims to eliminate female genital mutilation, knowing that circumcision is an act of the Sunnah of Fitra?

"The opinions of scholars regarding the ruling on female circumcision and the wisdom behind it have been previously clarified. The least that can be said about its ruling is that it is a Sunnah. It is not permissible to work towards abolishing a Sunnah or hindering its practice. Therefore, it is not permissible to work in this organization given its efforts to abolish and hinder the Sunnah. Allah Almighty says: 'And whatever the Messenger has given you—take it; and what he has forbidden you—refrain from it.' And He says: 'And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.'"
