What is the ruling on the inheritance of a woman who died leaving full brothers, paternal half-brothers and half-sisters, and maternal half-brothers, with no descendants or ascendants?
The method of distributing the inheritance cannot be clarified until the heirs are precisely identified. If it is assumed that the woman left no heirs other than her full brothers, her paternal brothers and sisters, and her maternal brothers, then the maternal brothers inherit one-third as a prescribed share, according to the Almighty's saying: "But if there are more than that, they share in one-third." The remainder goes to the full brothers by residuary right, with the male receiving the equivalent of the share of two females. The paternal brothers and sisters receive nothing, as they do not inherit in the presence of a full brother, by consensus.
