Will God, on the Day of Resurrection, judge a servant as obedient or disobedient by the same standard that a father judges his son, bearing in mind that the father is not religious, does not fulfill his household's rights, bothers his children, and wants to take their income, and is it permissible for the son to avoid sitting with his father for fear of problems?

The son's duty towards his parents is to be dutiful to them, obey them, respect them, honor them, spend on them if they are in need, and care for them and their affairs. If he does so, he is dutiful and obedient in the scale of Allah, even if his parents consider him disobedient and undutiful; because Allah's scale is just and equitable: "And We will set up the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be wronged in the least. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as reckoners."

A child is not judged as obedient or disobedient by the parent's scale, for a parent may consider obedience to be disobedience and dutifulness to be undutifulness, especially if they do not weigh by the scale of the Sharia (definition).

If the parent unjustly harms his child, the child may avoid frequenting his company to escape problems, while being keen on showing dutifulness and maintaining ties in other respects. It is better for him to bear his father's harm patiently and seek reward from Allah.
