What is the ruling on passing in front of someone performing the funeral prayer?

It is forbidden to pass in front of a praying person in any prayer, whether it is an obligatory (fard) prayer, a supererogatory (nafl) prayer, or a funeral prayer, due to the hadiths that prohibit it. It is sunnah for the praying person to place a sutrah (barrier), and he is allowed to repel anyone who passes between him and his sutrah, using the gentlest means first.
