Is covering the chin in prayer obligatory for women?

The forbidden innovation (Bid'ah) is that which is introduced into beliefs or acts of worship and has no basis in Islamic law, for acts of worship are prescriptive (tawqifiyyah). As for innovation in means, it is desirable, such as innovations that facilitate livelihoods or aid in worship. A distinction must be made between innovation in means and innovation (Bid'ah) in worship.
