The question

How can I reconcile between the obligatory prayers, especially the other four prayers, and the nature of my nighttime work, which necessitates sleeping during the day, given that I am a heavy sleeper and find it difficult to wake up for prayer?

The answer

Prayers must be performed at their appointed times. Allah has praised the believers whose trade does not divert them from His remembrance and from establishing prayer. A sleeping person is excused if they miss a prayer, but they must perform it immediately upon waking up. "Whoever oversleeps or forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers it." The sleeping person must take measures to wake up for prayer. If they do so and still do not wake up, they are excused. However, whoever stays up late and does not take measures is considered to have deliberately abandoned the prayer and is not excused. Heavy sleep may be due to staying up late for work or seeking knowledge; in this case, prayer must not be neglected, and one should look for another job. If heavy sleep is a natural disposition of the person, they are excused if they take measures and still do not wake up.
