Are the names "Najāḥ" and "Nūshīn" forbidden, and what should be done if a name is forbidden?

Some scholars disliked naming children Najeeh (نجيح) and Najah (نجاح), based on what Muslim and Ibn Hibban narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Ibn Hibban explained that the reason for the prohibition was that the people were new to Islam and had recently left polytheism, and they attributed profit, success, ease, and prosperity to these names rather than to Allah.

If this reason (the aforementioned rationale) is not present, then there is no harm in using these names. This is supported by their existence among the righteous predecessors (Salaf).

However, the advice is to avoid naming children with these names.

As for the name "Noushin" (نوشين), its meaning was not found in Arabic dictionaries. It is likely a foreign name. Therefore, it is not advisable to use it unless it is confirmed that its meaning does not contradict the principles of Islamic naming.
