What is the ruling on naming with "Nevin," given the difference in its origins and meanings, and is it permissible to name females with it?

Parents should choose good names for their children, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, you will be called on the Day of Resurrection by your names, so make your names good."

The criterion for the permissibility of naming with foreign (non-Arabic) names is that the name should not contain any Shariah prohibition and should not be exclusive to disbelievers. Ibn al-Qayyim divided names into three categories: those exclusive to Muslims, those exclusive to disbelievers (such as George and Peter), and those shared by everyone (such as John and Jesus).

Regarding the meanings mentioned, there is no Shariah prohibition in them. The matter that remains is whether the name is exclusive to disbelievers or not.
