Is it permissible to genetically modify living organisms to produce industrial enzymes, pharmaceuticals, and other useful products, especially if it does not involve human cloning, and based on the understanding that neutering animals is considered altering Allah's creation, yet was approved by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?

It is permissible to use genetic engineering to prevent and treat diseases and alleviate their harm, provided that it is not used on germ cells or to alter the human genetic structure. Its use in plants and animals is permissible, provided that it does not harm the environment or humans, with the necessity of disclosing genetically modified products to the public. As for castrating animals, it is permissible if it serves a legitimate interest, such as improving meat and fat, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sacrificed castrated animals. This is not considered an unlawful alteration of Allah's creation as long as there is a benefit in it.
