What is the ruling on utilizing the call and internet balance provided to employees by their administrative body for personal purposes, knowing that this does not entail any harm or additional cost to the administration?

The fundamental principle is that the work phone and everything related to it, such as credit, is a trust that must not be used except for the benefit of the work. This is based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿O you who have believed, do not consume one another's property unjustly except that it be [involving] trade [carried out] by mutual consent among you﴾. And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The property of a Muslim is not lawful except with his willing consent."

However, if there is free credit that exceeds the needs of the work and will be cancelled without being utilized, then it is better for the employee to benefit from it, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wasting money, and this excess credit would be squandered without benefit.

It is advisable to seek permission from the employer or the responsible manager in this regard to clear one's conscience.
