Is it obligatory to be content and grateful upon losing faith and the diminishing of Allah's love from the heart, if that is a punishment from Allah? And is it obligatory to be content with the non-application of Sharia in a Muslim country, and not to wish to live in a country that applies it, considering that to be part of divine decree with which one must be content?

To differentiate for the questioner between the actions of Allah Almighty and the actions of His servants: Allah's leading a servant astray, by His justice, knowledge, and wisdom, necessitates praise. However, the servant's earning that leads to going astray, through their sins, necessitates their dispraise and repentance. The servant must detest these actions, for Allah detests them and forbids them.

It is learned from the guidance of the Prophet, peace be upon him, that upon seeing what he loved, he would say: "Praise be to Allah, by whose grace good deeds are perfected." And upon seeing what he disliked, he would say: "Praise be to Allah in every circumstance."

A distinction must be made between Allah's religious legislative will and His universal decreed will. Abominable acts are universally decreed but not religiously willed, for Allah is not pleased with disbelief for His servants. Acceptance of what is decreed applies to calamities, not to blameworthy acts – meaning what befalls the servant, not what they commit.
