Is the prayer of one who performed ghusl for Friday prayer valid, without performing wudu, and without being in a state of janabah? And if he has prayed, what should he do?

The Friday ghusl (ritual bath) is not sufficient in place of wudu (ablution) because it is not performed to remove a state of ritual impurity (hadath). Similarly, bathing for cooling or cleanliness does not suffice for wudu. Wudu is specifically performed to remove hadath. Therefore, whoever performs ghusl for Friday without wudu and intends to pray must perform wudu. The majority of scholars hold that the Friday ghusl is sunnah (recommended) and not wajib (obligatory).

However, if a worshiper intends the obligatory purification and the removal of hadath, and washes the limbs of wudu in their prescribed order during the ghusl, then that is sufficient for them.
