Is love and sincerity sufficient to establish a sound home and life if the suitor does not match the family's educational and social level and differs in his way of thinking and behaving?

A successful marriage requires the spouses to be close religiously, psychologically, intellectually, economically, and socially, with the absence of familial and customary impediments. Love alone is not enough to establish a strong family; rather, marriage must achieve its purpose of permanence and continuity. Therefore, scholars speak of compatibility (kafa'ah), which includes religion, character, lineage, profession, and education. Overlooking the components of married life and relying solely on love is a grave mistake. The most successful marriage is one that results from a calm choice and careful consideration of both parties, with consultation from people of sound judgment and righteousness, seeking guidance from Allah (istikharah), and verifying the suitor's true state without being deceived by appearances. It is not permissible for a woman to have a love relationship with a man before marriage. And whoever has a relationship with a woman unlawful to him and tells her of his love is not truly religious and cannot be trusted.
