ما حكم من قال "والله إني كافر إن لعبت بالنت" ناويًا الكفر، ثم تاب، فهل يكفر إذا لعب بالإنترنت؟

Whoever intends disbelief by his statement, "I am a disbeliever if I do such-and-such," immediately disbelieves. And whoever says, "I disbelieve in Allah and the like if I do, and then he does," there is no expiation upon him, and he does not become a disbeliever unless he harbored that in his heart. However, Al-Awza'i, Al-Thawri, the Hanafis, Ahmad, and Ishaq are of the view that it is an oath and requires expiation.

Whoever says, "If I do such-and-such, then I am a Jew," or similar, it is not an oath, and he does not disbelieve by it if he intended to distance himself from the action or if he spoke generally. He must say: "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," and seek Allah's forgiveness. However, if he intended to be pleased with that if he did it, then he immediately disbelieves.

If he regrets and repents with sincere repentance, what has passed is forgiven him. If he performs the sworn-upon action after repentance, disbelief does not befall him, nor is there sin upon him if the action was permissible. However, if it was forbidden, he sins by doing it but does not disbelieve.

An oath by Allah necessitates an expiation for an oath.
