What is your advice for me, as a man who has been seeking a livelihood for four years without success, and refuses to go to those who claim to undo magic, clinging to prayer and supplication, while his family suspects the presence of magic?

Prayer and supplication are the greatest aids in fulfilling needs, for Allah the Almighty says: "And seek help through patience and prayer," and "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.'" When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was troubled by an affair, he would pray. There is no harm in ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) according to Sharia, and it is prescribed for both the afflicted and the non-afflicted. There is no harm in going to someone who can undo magic if the raqi (exorcist) is known for sound belief and adherence to the Sunnah. However, it is forbidden if he is among the charlatans or those who undo magic with magic. Ibn al-Qayyim explained that al-Nushrah (undoing magic) is of two types: permissible through ruqyah, invocations, and permissible supplications, and forbidden by undoing magic with magic.
