What should we do concerning our relatives who practice magic and sorcery, given that our financial and health conditions have noticeably deteriorated after problems with them, and it is believed that they have bewitched us?
We recommend preserving the morning and evening adhkar (remembrances), asking Allah for well-being, and especially reading the Quran (Surah Al-Baqarah, Al-Ikhlas, and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn three times in the morning and evening), for that suffices against all evil.
Among the important adhkar is saying: "In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing" three times in the morning and evening.
Furthermore, du'a (supplication) benefits against what has descended and what has not descended. It is also important to maintain the four rak'ahs of prayer at the beginning of the day, based on the hadith: "O Son of Adam: Pray four rak'ahs at the beginning of the day, and I will suffice you for its end."
One should also diligently repeat: "Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god but He. In Him I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne" seven times in the morning and evening, to be sufficed in what concerns him.
When fearing a people, one should supplicate with the du'a narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "O Allah, we place You before them and seek refuge in You from their evils."
A Muslim can also perform ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing) on themselves with legal ruqyah, or seek help from a trustworthy raqi (one who performs ruqyah).
