Can magic afflict believers and disbelievers, and what are the ways to protect oneself from it?

Magic affects both believers and disbelievers. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was afflicted by magic. To prevent it, one should frequently recite the morning and evening supplications, read Surat Al-Baqarah, Ayatul Kursi, and the two verses that follow it, and say "There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things competent" one hundred times. Also, one should perform night prayers, maintain ablution, pray in congregation, and eat seven 'Ajwa dates in the morning. For treatment after it has occurred, the magic should be extracted and destroyed, or through Ruqyah (exorcism according to Islamic law), or by using permissible remedies such as sidr leaves, Zamzam water, honey, and black seed.
