It has not been reported from the Salaf that they used to recommend taking care of the ashes of burned books. It is established that Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), after writing the Mus'haf, ordered the burning of all other copies of the Qur'an. This indicates the permissibility of burning books that contain the name of Allah with fire, and that doing so is a form of honoring them.
