Can a Muslim be among the Companions of the Left mentioned in Surat Al-Waqi'ah, even though the verses describe them as "Nay, but they are in disbelief concerning the meeting with their Lord"? And will the Companions of the Right be tormented in their graves or hereafter?

The scholars have stated that some disobedient people will receive their books with their left hands, from behind their backs, while the disbeliever will receive his book from behind his back. In this, the disobedient share with the disbelievers the act of receiving the book with the left hand. As for the punishment of the companions of the right hand in their graves, it occurs for some of them as a purification for their sins. Many pieces of evidence have been reported concerning the torment and bliss of the grave.
