Will those who receive their record in their right hand never enter Hell whatsoever when the records are scattered, and how will those people of Paradise who are first punished in Hell receive their record?

The texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah have clarified that people will receive their records of deeds on the Day of Resurrection; the fortunate will take their book in their right hand, and the wretched will take it in their left hand from behind their back. The verses are explicit that the People of the Right are the believers, and the Companions of the Left are the disbelievers. As for disobedient monotheists, scholars have differed on how they will receive their books; some preferred that they will take it in their right hand, while others held that they will take it in their left hand, and still others chose to refrain from a definitive opinion on the matter. The preponderant view is that only the disbeliever will take his book in his left hand. Therefore, a Muslim should strive in acts of obedience to be among the People of the Right.
