An employee is a private contractor, and the employer owns his benefit only during working hours. Therefore, the supervisor has no authority over the employee outside of working hours, unless there is another condition between the employer and the employee. The supervisor is not sinful if the employee makes a mistake outside or during working hours, as long as he does not assist or condone it. As for the qualities a supervisor should possess, they relate to strength and trustworthiness. Strength is the ability to bear responsibility, be firm, and have knowledge of the nature of the work. Trustworthiness is fearing Allah and refraining from betrayal or injustice.
