Does the sin of requesting to join a Tajwid circle to please a friend invalidate all previous good deeds?

The polytheism of love (shirk al-mahabbah) is loving other than Allah as one loves Him; it is a love of servitude and veneration. Ostentation (riya') appears to be minor polytheism (shirk asghar). Major polytheism (shirk akbar), which expels one from the fold of Islam, nullifies all previous deeds, while minor polytheism nullifies only the specific deed associated with it. Whoever performs a deed associating others with Allah in it, Allah abandons him and his association. Ostentation is a form of minor polytheism, and it is performing deeds for the sake of people. As Al-Fudayl ibn Iyad said: "Abandoning a deed for the sake of people is ostentation (riya'), and performing a deed for the sake of people is polytheism (shirk)." Repentance and remorse for ostentation are the truth, and one must purify their deeds for Allah the Almighty.
