When does a traveler begin to pray fully if he intends to reside for more than a year? Is it from the day of his arrival, or after four days, or is he allowed both options?

If a traveler intends to stay for more than four days in a specific place, it becomes obligatory for him to complete the four-rak'ah prayers, the ruling of travel ceases, and he is prohibited from shortening and combining prayers. This is the view of the majority of scholars.
