What is the ruling on someone whose travel exceeds three days: should they pray the shortened prayer?

It is permissible for a traveler on a journey of obedience or a permissible journey to shorten the four-rak'ah prayers if they do not intend to stay for more than four days, according to the majority of scholars. Abu Hanifa, however, holds the view that it is permissible to shorten prayers as long as one does not intend to stay for more than fifteen days. Ibn Taymiyyah is of the opinion that a traveler may shorten prayers unless they intend a permanent stay, citing the actions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions as evidence.
