How can one reconcile obedience to the father who rejects the continuation of the marriage with obedience to the husband, especially since the religious marriage has been completed, while the father rejects the civil marriage, and the father and brother threaten the husband with annulling the contract?

If the lawful marriage contract has been concluded in the presence of the guardian and witnesses, then it is not permissible for the wife to seek a divorce without a lawful justification, and the father does not have the right to order his daughter to separate from her husband, as obedience is only in what is good. The wife is not obliged to obey her parents in separating from her husband. If the husband requests to consummate the marriage and has paid her the advanced dowry, then the father does not have the right to refuse to hand her over to him.

The marriage contract is a solemn covenant that can only be annulled by a judge or whoever acts in his stead. It is advisable to supplicate and seek the intercession of good people to convince the father. If he is not convinced, the matter should be referred to the Islamic centers.
