Is "If sandals become wet, pray in dwellings" an authentic saying from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him?

The aforementioned hadith (definition) (prophetic tradition) was not found with its exact wording. However, there is a muttafaq alayh (agreed upon) hadith with a similar meaning from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to command the mu'adhin (caller to prayer) on a cold or rainy night during travel to say: "Perform salah (definition) (prayer) in your dwellings." A narration was mentioned with the wording: "If sandals become wet, then pray in your homes," but Al-Hafiz said he did not see it in hadith books, and Taj al-Din al-Fazzari said he did not find it in the original sources.
