What is the ruling on taking a loan from the bank out of necessity, despite being unable to repay it and regretting doing so?

Among the greatest blessings of Allah is guidance to repentance and regret for sins. Repentance from engaging in usury is accepted, and Allah has promised good to those who repent. The principal amount must be returned without any increase. One should refrain from paying usurious interest unless compelled to do so, and refraining would cause harm. If it is possible to expedite repayment to be rid of the interest, then do so.
