What is the ruling on a mother who curses her husband, children, and people without justification?

It is not permissible to supplicate against anyone unjustly. Whoever does so is an oppressor and aggressor, and their supplication will not be answered, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The supplication of a servant will continue to be answered as long as he does not supplicate for a sin or for the severance of ties of kinship." This ruling includes a parent's supplication against their child if it is unjust.

However, if the supplication is rightful, it is permissible, though refraining from it is better, as Allah Almighty says: (And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives, that would truly be an affair of great resolution.) And Allah has promised to answer rightful supplications, whether against a child or anyone else. In the hadith: "Three supplications are answered without doubt: the supplication of a parent against their child, the supplication of a traveler, and the supplication of the oppressed."

Therefore, parents are advised to refrain from supplicating against their children for fear that Allah may answer it in a way that harms the children.
