Is it permissible for a mother to get angry with her son and invoke (God's curse or wrath) upon him if he does not obey her commands, even if these commands displease Allah, such as choosing a wife for him whom he does not desire?

Angering one's mother is an act of disobedience (ʿuqūq) and a major sin, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Lord's pleasure is in the parent's pleasure, and the Lord's displeasure is in the parent's displeasure." However, it is not permissible for a mother to be angry with her child for not obeying her in an act of disobedience to Allah, for there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. The supplication mentioned in the hadith, "The Lord's pleasure...", applies only to matters that do not contradict Islamic law. It is forbidden for a mother to supplicate against her child for harm, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not supplicate against yourselves, and do not supplicate against your children, and do not supplicate against your wealth, lest you coincide with an hour from Allah in which He grants supplications and He responds to you."
