Does divorce occur with the utterance of "marry someone else" if the husband says it to his wife, without intending divorce by it, knowing that he suffers from obsessive thoughts about divorce and is always careful to avoid its pronouncements?

Your statement to your wife, "Marry [someone else]," is a

metaphorical expression (kinayah) and does not effect a divorce without the

intention to divorce. If you doubt your intention, disregard the doubt,

because the default is the continuation of the marriage. Al-Majd Ibn Taymiyyah

said, "If one doubts a divorce or its condition, it is built upon the

certainty of the marriage." Therefore, distance yourself from these

whispers [of doubt].
