Is it intended by the Hadith that Thursday is only for voluntary fasting and is not suitable for making up a day or for fulfilling a vow, and is it permissible to fast on Thursday with the intention of making up a day or fulfilling a vow?

Ibn Hajar mentioned that the reason for the prohibition of fasting on Friday is that it is a day of Eid. He cited the Hadith of Abu Hurairah: "Friday is a day of Eid, so do not make your day of Eid a day of your fasting, unless you fast the day before it or the day after it." And the narration from Ali ibn Abi Talib: "Whoever among you volunteers to fast during the month, let him fast on Thursday and not fast on Friday, for it is a day of food, drink, and remembrance." The encouragement to fast on Thursday is supported by the action of the Prophet (peace be upon him), as he used to fast on that day. It is permissible to fast on Thursday to make up for missed fasts (qada') or as a vow (nadhr). As for the prohibition of singling out Friday for fasting, it is considered disliked (makruh) by the majority, not forbidden (haram), and this dislike is removed in certain circumstances.
