How can one reconcile the Hadith "Indeed, a servant is deprived of provision by a sin he commits" with the Ahadith that state "Righteousness does not increase provision, nor does disobedience decrease it," and "No soul will die until it has completed its provision and its term of life"?

It is narrated in the Hadith of Thawban that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Nothing averts destiny except supplication, and nothing increases life except righteousness, and indeed a person is deprived of provision by a sin he commits." Some scholars have authenticated it, while Al-Albani declared the part about being deprived of provision by sin as weak. As for the Hadith "Indeed, sin does not diminish provision, nor does a good deed increase it, and abandoning supplication is a sin," it is fabricated. The Hadith "O people, fear Allah and be moderate in seeking, for no soul will die until it has received its full provision" does not contradict the Hadith of Thawban. This is because divine decree (qada') is of two types: an irreversible, unchangeable decree, and a conditional decree recorded in the scrolls of the angels, which can be altered by supplication and righteousness. The latter is what is intended in the Hadith of Thawban.
