Is hair plucked from a human body impure or pure?

A person's hair is pure (tahir), whether it is separated during their life or after their death, by cutting or plucking. This is the view of the majority of scholars and the three imams (Malik, Al-Shafi'i, and Ahmad), and it is the most preponderant and correct view due to the evidence supporting it. The companions (of the imams) agreed that the hair exempted from impurity is human hair, organs separated from a human, fish, locusts, and the placenta, and all of these are pure. As for the Hanafis, unplucked hair is pure, while plucked hair is impure due to the oiliness it carries. As for the Malikis, the correct view among them is the purity of everything separated from a human absolutely, based on the purity of their dead body.
