Does a Muslim man inherit from his Kitabi (People of the Book, i.e., Christian or Jewish) wife if she dies, and does he take her money, or should he donate it?

Difference in religion prevents inheritance, based on the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "A Muslim does not inherit from a disbeliever, nor does a disbeliever inherit from a Muslim." This is the view of the majority of scholars, while some are of the opinion that a Muslim may inherit from their disbelieving inheritor. Therefore, it is permissible for a Muslim to dispose of the wealth they receive from their non-Muslim inheritor.
