How can we reconcile the prophetic interpretation of Allah Almighty’s saying: "And the sun runs on to its resting place" that the prostration of the sun necessitates its stillness, with the scientific implications of such a halt—even for a mere fraction of a second—which would result in a disruption of the rotational movement of both the sun and the earth?

The prostration of the sun beneath the Throne is an unseen matter whose modality is known only to Allah the Almighty. This prostration is not exclusive to the sun, as the prostration of all creatures to Allah is general. Ibn Ashour held the view that the location of its prostration is unknown, and there is no contradiction between its prostration and its movement. A group of scholars have indicated that it prostrates while it is moving and revolving.
