What is the ruling on a woman who entered into a state of Ihram from a ship, then went home for several days before performing 'Umrah?
Whoever travels from Egypt by sea for Hajj or Umrah, it is not permissible for them to pass al-Juhfah (now Rabigh) without entering into a state of ihram. If she entered into ihram after passing the miqat, she must return to it or to its parallel and enter into ihram from there. If that is not possible or she missed it, she must offer a sacrifice (dam) to be slaughtered in Makkah and distributed among the poor of the Haram. As for her sitting with you while in ihram, after entering ihram and before performing the rituals, there is no harm in that. She must avoid the prohibitions of ihram until she completes her Umrah. It is better for her to perform her Umrah first, and then stay with you.
