Were there an elderly Jewish man and woman, married, who committed adultery during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and refused the Torah's ruling of stoning, so they resorted to the Prophet to judge between them, and he said to them: "Judge by what is in your book"? And is this evidence of the Torah's authenticity, as the Messenger of Allah judged by it?

The hadith (definition) agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim states that two Jews committed adultery and that the Torah's ruling on stoning had not been altered. It also mentions that the Jews concealed the verse about stoning and did not apply it to their prominent figures. However, Allah the Almighty clarified that they did alter some rulings, as He states: "So woe to those who write the Scripture with their own hands, then say, 'This is from Allah,' in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn."
