Is it permissible for a person to say, "I miss you, O Messenger of Allah?"

"Love for the Prophet (peace be upon him) and yearning for him are among the noblest and most sublime aspirations; indeed, they are part of faith. The Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us about the state of those who yearn for him after his passing, stating that one of them would wish to see him even if it meant sacrificing their family and wealth.

If addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him) is intended to bring his person to mind in the heart, without requesting anything from him, then it is permissible. However, if the intention is that he hears every address, then this is false and has no basis in Islamic law.

Such an utterance may occur when one is overcome by longing or when recalling an aspect of his biography. If the expression might be misunderstood, then it should be avoided, and clearer words should be used instead."
