What is the ruling on reciting what is easy from the Quran over a handful of dust and sprinkling it on the deceased while burying them in the lahd?

There is no basis for taking a handful of earth from the grave, reciting over it, and then scattering it on the shroud of the deceased so that he may not be tormented in his grave. Rather, it is a reprehensible innovation that is impermissible to perform. What is prescribed for the deceased is to wash him, shroud him, pray over him, then bury him in the Muslim cemeteries, and supplicate for his forgiveness and steadfastness after the completion of the burial.
