Is it considered public sinning if one commits a sin in front of their children?

This act is worse than open sinning because it is a poor upbringing. It is considered open sinning even if it is inside the house and not in front of people, because it is in front of the family. Therefore, smokers should not smoke in front of their families so as not to train them to smoke.
