Is it permissible for a girl to proceed with marriage to committed young men through a sheikh without her family's knowledge?

It is permissible for a woman to seek marriage and look for a righteous man, and this is a sign of her sound intellect. A woman once offered herself to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and Imam Al-Bukhari titled a chapter in his Sahih: "Chapter: A Woman Offering Herself to a Righteous Man." It is permissible to seek the help of righteous and upright people in matters of marriage, by a woman presenting her case to a trustworthy and righteous individual, with certain guidelines: the intermediary should not be informed of her detailed descriptions, the suitor should approach her family without direct contact, and it is permissible for the suitor to look at her with or without her knowledge. She should supplicate to Allah for a righteous husband and perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance).
