What is the meaning of "without any power or strength from me"?
These words are part of a Hadith narrated by Sahl ibn Mu'adh ibn Anas, from his father, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever eats food and then says: 'All praise is due to Allah who fed me this food and provided it for me, without any power or strength on my part,' his past and future sins will be forgiven. And whoever wears a garment and then says: 'All praise is due to Allah who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, without any power or strength on my part,' his past and future sins will be forgiven." Narrated by Abu Dawud, and Al-Albani graded it good, without the addition "and future." And "without any power on my part" means without any movement or stratagem on my part, and "nor strength" means I have no strength to bring good to myself except by the will of Allah Almighty.
