It is not permissible to converse with a girl or message her unnecessarily, out of fear of temptation (fitna). Speaking with a young woman who is not a محرم is not permissible without a need, as it is a cause for suspicion and temptation. One must occupy oneself with what benefits them in their religious and worldly affairs.
