The intention's place is the heart. It is the resolve to do something and the aiming for it. Whoever knows what he wants to do, intends it without choice. It is inconceivable for a rational person to do something without an intention. The performance of ablution by the one performing it and his carrying out the acts of ablution are sufficient, for the intention does not require exertion or obsessive doubt. Every act of a rational person has an intention. Repeated oaths concerning a single matter require only one expiation according to the majority of scholars. The questioner is advised to disregard obsessive doubts and not to yield to them.
