It is recommended to turn to Allah with supplication and patience during hardships, while also striving for dialogue and understanding with the husband, and seeking help from close relatives to try and persuade him regarding some demands. If the husband is not convinced, then patience in this matter is better for attaining Allah's pleasure.

Moreover, it is good for the woman to adhere to the following: Prayer, fasting, guarding one's chastity, and obeying the husband are paths to entering Paradise. Obeying the husband is a cause for Allah's pleasure and Paradise. Sincere repentance erases sins, and it is not permissible for the husband to reproach his wife for them or falsely accuse her. Thinking about suicide is religiously and rationally rejected, and leads to greater misery. It is permissible to seek divorce (Talaq) or annulment (Khul') if marital life becomes impossible. Evasive language (Tawriya) can be used to deny prior communication after repentance, and to clear oneself from false accusations with strong oaths.
