Is it permissible to wear athletic pants that cover the ankles and do not go below them, and is it obligatory to wear what is above the ankles to demonstrate the Sunnah? Covering the ankles is not part of the prohibited isbal (letting one's garment hang below the ankles), and wearing a qamis (tunic) is not obligatory. The pleasure of parents should be considered in permissible clothing, especially during exam times. Shortening garments above the ankles to attract attention and teach the Sunnah is a good intention, and the Sunnah can be taught through its texts. Tight trousers that describe but do not reveal are disliked unless something is worn over them. It is not considered that they should not describe the size of the limb, because it is impossible to guard against that, and it does not harm if they describe the contours. However, for the Malikis, there is a detailed explanation. If the color is concealed and the size of the limbs is described, there is no harm.
