Will the questioner be punished for the intrusive thoughts of obsessive-compulsive disorder that she experiences, and have these thoughts reached the degree of unforgivable disbelief, and what is the solution to this obsession, and is it from the self or from Satan, and why does it come to her despite her commitment to acts of worship, and can the evil eye be a reason for her lack of desire to worship?
Obsessive thoughts do not harm their owner as long as he dislikes them; rather, they indicate clear faith, because a Muslim's dislike of these obsessive thoughts is a sign of the purity of his faith.
To get rid of obsessive thoughts:
1. Increase in prayer, remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and supplication (du'a). 2. Turn away from them and do not dwell on them. 3. Increase in seeking refuge with Allah from Satan (isti'adha). 4. Say "Allah, Allah is my Lord, I associate nothing with Him," and "He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is, of all things, knowing." 5. Engage in learning religious matters, for knowledge increases faith and fortifies the heart.
These obsessive thoughts are often from Satan, but the self (nafs) can also generate them. The difference between them is that what your self dislikes for itself is from Satan, so seek refuge with Allah from it. As for what your self likes for itself, it is from your self, so restrain it.
It is recommended to maintain ruqyah shar'iyyah (Islamic incantation/exorcism).
