What is meant by "righteous offspring" in the noble Hadith: "When a person dies, all his deeds cease except for three: a continuous charity, knowledge from which benefit is derived, or righteous offspring who pray for him"? Does it include siblings, wives, and relatives? And are the recitation of the Qur'an and supplication for them accepted?

The hadith means that a person's deeds cease upon their death, except for three things, the reward of which continues after their death: knowledge and ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), due to their continuous benefit, and a righteous child whom their father raised, for their supplication is an extension of the father's effort. A righteous child is outwardly upright, such as being regular in prayers, avoiding major and minor sins, adhering to the Sunnah, being dutiful to their parents, and maintaining kinship ties. They are also inwardly upright by shunning malice, envy, and arrogance. As for the supplication of someone other than the child for the deceased, such as a brother or wife, it is agreed that the deceased benefits from it. Similarly, the deceased benefits from the recitation of the Quran, charity, and acts of righteousness.
